My mom's 2016 Smart ForTwo Electric Drive is acting up—it won't charge at all. It was running fine until earlier today. The display's throwing up some error and the battery looks completely drained. Anyone run into this issue before and know how to fix it?

Did you get it fixed? It sounds like a charging system issue. You can check the cable and port for damage, and if everything looks fine, it might be a battery management issue.

What kind of error is it throwing?

Pop the negative terminal off the 12v battery for around 60 seconds, then snap it back on. Our BMS can be a little picky and sometimes throws a fit by locking itself out. But a quick power cycle fixes it every time!

Given how rare these cars are, I’d guess you’ll need to take it to the dealer for a proper diagnosis.
