Metal Flakes in the Smartfortwo 451ed Engine?

I’ve got these random metal flakes chilling in the engine bay of my 2015 451ed. Anyone else seen this funky stuff, or got a clue what’s going on? It’s kinda tough to make out in the pic, though - just trust me, they're there!

It’s probably just some road dust, honestly. No way the motor’s throwing out metal bits, it's fully enclosed.

That sounds concerning. Metal flakes could point to wear in the engine or components, have you checked for any leaks or damage?

Absolutely agree. I'd be concerned if oil leaks out of the engine. It definitely wouldn't be coming from the road!
