If you retax your car for £0.00 in March you will avoid the tax payable from any renewal after 1st April. You just need your log book reference number and follow the instructions.

On the same subject it is really not fair that we with small cars with limited range have to pay the same tax as a big Mercedes or Jaguar - but I don't think anyone is going to support a change to that.

That’s a great tip for saving on road tax, and yeah, it’s frustrating that smaller EVs with limited range are taxed the same as larger luxury ones...but sadly, a tax change seems unlikely anytime soon.
