New to EV and checking around forums. Smart ForTwo Electric Drive is catching my eye! Looking for tips from seasoned Smart owners - what are the must-knows before I dive in? Found a seemingly nice one with a replaced battery twice, but is that a red flag or a fresh start? Should I stick with Mercedes dealerships or look wider? Thanks in advance

I own a 2018 Smart Fortwo ED. All I can say is that it's just suitable for short commutes. On the plus side, it has low maintenance cost. I'm nearing 70,000 miles on it and haven't had any major issues.

Nice choice! The Smart ForTwo ED is quirky and perfect for tight urban spaces. The replaced battery isn’t necessarily a red flag, it might just mean the car had some initial hiccups, but now it’s sorted. Before you buy, take it for a spin and make sure the range and charging are consistent with the spec. As for servicing, Mercedes dealerships are reliable, but don’t discount local EV pros, they can be lifesavers!
